Day 1 (Sat): Flight to Ashgabat
Flight to Ashgabat from your city. Ashgabat - the capital of Turkmenistan has borne this name since 1881. In the Turkmen folklore the name of the city is linked with the meaning "a city of love". Love is not only an integral part of the name of the city, but also a feeling familiar to all generations of the citizens of Ashgabat. The present Ashgabat distinguishes itself with its own style, harmoniously combining the best traditions of its own national architecture and the achievements of the modern town-building.
Day 2 (Sun): Full Day in Ashgabat
Full Day SS of Ashgabat includes: Ashgabat's famous Oriental Bazar -
Jygyldyk (Tolkuchka in Russian - open on Thursday, Saturday & Sunday-best day to visit) where it is sold almost everything: camels (Sundays only), carpets(Sundays only), cars (Sundays only) and etc. where is possible to find plenty of souvenirs such as carpets, aladjas, handcrafts, felts, embroideries, jewelers (Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays only) and etc. It is also one of the best places to meet face-to-face with Turkmen culture and people.
After Bazar drive to the
Hippodrome of Ashgabat to watch the Sunday Horse Race which is free to enter for all (races are held on Sundays from April till June & September till November. However, race time & date is subject to be changed by the State Association of "Turkmen Atlary") which gives a chance to see & familiarize with the best horses of Turkmenistan: Turkmen Horses-Akhalteke which thought to be the rootstock of Arab, Thoroughbred and etc in motion and "horse crazy" people rooting for their favorite horses without any betting, Park dedicated to Turkmen horses-the pride of Turkmen, Arch of Neutrality, Presidential Square, Gulistan Bazar, Monument of Lenin which was erected in 1927 and was one those few monuments which survived the earthquake of 1948, Ertogrul Gazy Mosque.
Day 3 (Mon): Flight to Turkmenbashy. Half Day at Turkmenbashy
Morning transfer to the local airport of Ashgabat to catch a flight to Turkmenbashy. Type of Aircraft Boeing 717-200. Flight T5-243. Departure at 10.00 & arrival at 11.00 (flight time & costs are subject to be changed by Turkmenistan Airlines). Upon arrival transfer to hotel & accommodation.
drive by 4WD ~320km & 4,5 h/d.d. to Turkmenbashy via via Balkanabat & Mollagara Salt Lakes - very popular bath place used for vary treatments which are much more salty than the Dead Sea. Arrival & accommodation. After short rest proceed with SS in/around Turkmenbashy includes: The Gate of Central Asia-symbolical monument put for those who came to explore Central Asia from Russia in XVIIcc, Local Museum, City Bazaar where it is sold famous Caspian Black Caviar, Smoked Sturgeon.
Day 4 (Tue): Full Day at Turkmenbashy. Flight to Ashgabat
Morning drive to the port of Turkmenbashy to have 2 hours (10AM-12PM) sailing (cruise) in the sea on motor boat which can have ~ 30 people on board. Afternoon Half Day SS of surroundings of Turkmenbashy: Awaza Settlement with its nice beaches which will be turned soon into the free economic touristic zone with decades of luxurious hotels, resorts & health clubs. After Awaza transfer to the local airport of Turkmenbashy to catch a flight to Ashgabat. Type of Aircraft Boeing 717-200. Flight T5-246. Departure at 19.20 & arrival at 20.20 (flight time & costs are subject to be changed by Turkmenistan Airlines). Upon arrival transfer to hotel & accommodation.

Old Nissa - The Sanctuary of Parhian Kings (Nissa is situated in 15 km to the west of Ashgabat & founded in the III century B.C. Nissa was the capital of Parthian Empire which lasted for about 600 years and was the biggest competitor for the Rome Empire. Here there were the palace & temple buildings, the depositories & the treasury of the Parthian Kings. During the Old Nissa excavations the monumental constructions are exposed - the temples (round & tower). Taking into consideration the great scientific-cultural meaning, the site of the ancient town is declared the historical-cultural preserve.

National Museum of History & Ethnography (closed on Tuesdays) for extra entry cost paid directly (highly recommendable after all visited historical sites: It contains the major treasures discovered from all over the country. The most interesting expositions are represented in archeology and ethnography departments. Archeological collection contains very rare works of art of ancient times and middle ages which were found on the territory of Turkmenistan. About 500.000 exhibits are displayed in this museum.
It boasts a full collection of Turkmenistan's most significant architectural finds of the XX century; a large number of ancient Turkmen carpets and rugs; examples of national dress and fabrics; traditional household equipment; musical instruments; weapons; jewelry; medals, historical documents, horn-shaped vessels made of ivory, statuettes of Parthian goddess and Rodoguna, colourful Buddhist vase representing life and death… ) & Cable Car Lifted Mountain Observing Center located close to Ashgabat on Kopetdag Mountains, Walking tour to via Park of Independency with stops to visit Monument of Independency & Ruhnama, The Ruins of Seyit Jemal Ed Din (XV) known as Anew Mosque located close to Anew Town at Bagabat Medieval Fortress Town in ~15km to the east of Ashgabat, Museum of Agriculture & White Wheat built also in Anew dedicated to the agricultural sites found near Anew which believed the oldest agricultural wheat cultivation sites in the former USSR territories.
Day 6 (Thu): Full Day SS of Surroundings Ashgabat
Morning drive ~130km & 2 hours one way driving) to have SS of other attractions of western parts Akhal Province via Geokdere & Julge valleys of Kopetdag Mountains to have a close impression of the mountains and new projects of government to turn Geokdere Valley into net of luxurious resort centers of Turkmenistan. En route stop to visit:
Turkmenbashynyn Ruhy Metjidi which is biggest in Central Asia & Mausoleum Complex of the tombs of Turkmenbashy and his parents with his brothers, Saparmyrat Khadji Mosque built in Geokdepe Fortress where there is a local museum which demonstrates a heroic defense of Geokdepe in January 1881) & Kow Ata Underground Lake for extra entry cost paid directly (located in Baharly (former Bakharden) at the foothills of the Kopet-Dag Mountains (90km to the west of Ashgabat).
The Turkmen name Kov-Ata means "father of caves". At a first glance this underground area looks like magnificent auditorium. The bottom of the cave is covered with lumps of lime. Its warm and running water is clear and emerald coloured. Even in artificial lightning tiny stones on the bottom can be seen. As you approach the lake you will feel the air becoming damper and warmer. You can hear sounds like sighs or whispers above your head. These are pigeons which inhabit the cave in great abundance. The water has a constant temperature 33-37°C. Chemical analysis has shown that water contains a complex combination of chemical elements-30 have been found to date.
Size of cave: length 250 m, depth 60 m, average width 25 m. Size of lake: length 75 m, max. width 23 m, max. depth 14 m. Volume of the lake - 6500 cubic meter).
Day 7 (Fri): Flight to Mary. SS of Old Merv
Morning transfer to the local airport of Ashgabat to catch a flight to Mary. Type of Aircraft Boeing 717-200. Flight T5-127. Departure at 06.30 & arrival at 07.10 (flight time & costs are subject to be changed by Turkmenistan Airlines). Upon arrival transfer (~35km & 30 min driving) to Bayramali Town to have SS of Old Merv known as Mary Shahu Jahan-King of the World for about 300 years became the biggest city in Asia & 8 years Capital of Khalifat, inscribed into the monuments list of World Heritage Book, protected by the UNESCO: Gyz Gala & Oglan Gala (6-7th cc.), Complex of Askhabs (8-14th cc.), Giaur Gala (4th c. BC), Buddist Complex (4-6th cc.), Beni Makhan Mosque - first Mosque build in Central Asia (7th c.), Erk Gala (6th c. BC), Soltan Gala (11th c.), Soltan Sanjar Mausoleum (12th c.), Ibn Zeid Mausoleum (12th c.). After Old Merv proceed the way back to Mary to visit a Local Museum of Mary which has 3 halls (Archeology/History, Turkmen Ethnography & Other Nationalities Ethnography Halls) and located in 19th century built merchant's house. After museum accommodation & rest.
Day 8 (Sat): Drive to Farab Border Pass. Cross into Uzbekistan
Morning drive (~290km & 4 h/d/d) to Farab/Alat Border Pass via Turkmenabat and the floating bridge over the Greatest River of Central Asia to cross into Uzbekistan. Approximately time of being at the "Red Line" (Real Border) is 14.30 PM.
